Server Rules
PowerRP is a whitelisted, 18+ serious roleplay server. These rules are enforced by staff and, where noted, backed directly by server systems (NLR timer, combat-log detection, death handling, LEO lock). Ignorance of the rules is not a defense — read them before you apply.
01 Whitelist & Application Conduct
- You must be a member of the PowerRP Discord and hold an approved whitelist application (submitted at playpowerrp.com) before connecting.
- Answer application questions honestly and in your own words. Copy-pasted, joke, or placeholder answers are an automatic deny.
- A denied application may be resubmitted at any time once you’ve addressed why it was denied.
- Do not ask staff to expedite or approve your application outside the normal review process.
02 Age, Maturity & Community Standards
- PowerRP is an 18+ server. You must be at least 18 to hold a whitelist here.
- Hate speech, harassment, racism, and discrimination of any kind are not tolerated in or out of character, in voice, text, or your character’s name.
- OOC (out-of-character) drama does not belong in IC (in-character) spaces, and IC conflict is not a license for OOC hostility toward another player.
- Real-world sensitive topics should be handled with the same care you’d expect in any mixed-age-appropriate mature community.
03 Value of Life & Fear RP
- Your character values their life. If you are held at gunpoint with no reasonable means of escape, you comply — you don’t fight, flee, or reach for a weapon into a losing situation.
- Fear RP applies both ways: the person with the advantage must also give a real chance to comply before escalating to lethal force.
- Suicide-baiting a hostage situation to force a shootout ends the scene poorly for everyone and is treated as a value-of-life violation.
04 Powergaming & Metagaming
- Powergaming — forcing an action onto another player without giving them a real chance to react or resist (e.g. scripted "I inject you before you can move") — is not allowed.
- Metagaming — using out-of-character information (Discord, stream, another character’s knowledge) inside a scene your character has no IC way of knowing — is not allowed.
- Perma-death, character info, and location intel shared in OOC channels stays OOC unless your character actually learned it in-character.
05 New Life Rule (NLR)
- When your character is revived or respawns after going down, a 20-minute on-screen timer starts.
- During that timer you may not return to the scene, reference what happened, or seek revenge/retaliation tied to that incident.
- This is currently a timer-and-reminder system, not a hard technical block — you are trusted and expected to follow it. Deliberate NLR breaks are treated as a serious rule violation, not a gray area.
06 Initiation, RDM & VDM
- Random Deathmatch (RDM) — attacking another player without any in-character justification or interaction — is not allowed.
- Random Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) — using a vehicle as a weapon against a player with no RP buildup — is not allowed.
- Any hostile action (robbery, kidnapping, use of force) requires a clear, heard/understood initiation before it happens — the other player must have a real chance to respond.
- Drive-by shootings and mass-casualty scenes need real RP buildup and a reason, not just "because I could."
07 Combat Logging
- Taking or dealing weapon damage flags you "in combat" for 20 seconds. Disconnecting while that flag is active, or while cuffed or downed, is combat logging and is automatically flagged to staff.
- If you need to leave during an active RP situation, try to resolve or de-escalate it first — don’t alt-F4 or close the game to avoid an outcome.
- Combat logging is treated as an attempt to avoid IC consequences and is punished accordingly.
08 Death & Injury
- On confirmed death (not downed/critical), your character’s main inventory is permanently cleared — only your driver’s license survives. Bank balance, personal stash, vehicle trunk, and backpacks are untouched.
- Being downed is not death — you can still be RP’d with (robbed, questioned, taken hostage) while critical, within Fear RP and value-of-life rules.
- Don’t use "I would have died anyway" logic to skip RP — play out the scene.
09 Law Enforcement & Government RP
- LEO clothing, equipment, vehicles, and MDT access are restricted to on-duty CPD/CCS/ISP characters. Impersonating law enforcement is a serious rule violation.
- Officers are held to a higher RP standard: use of force must be justified and proportionate, and rights (Miranda-equivalent, medical treatment for the downed) must be respected.
- Corruption and bending the law is fine as character-driven RP — it is not a shortcut around these rules.
10 Vehicles, Property & the Economy
- Reckless driving for no IC reason (traffic RP breaking, ramming for fun) outside of an active chase or scene is not allowed.
- Vehicle tax, apartment rent, and vehicle insurance are ongoing costs by design — falling behind has in-fiction consequences (impound, eviction) that are not staff-reversible "because I forgot."
- High-end/supercar dealership purchases require a staff-issued Vehicle Permit. Do not ask staff to bypass this — earn or roleplay toward it.
11 Safe Zones
- Hospitals, the whitelist/apply area, and any zone explicitly marked safe are non-RP-combat areas — no robbing, fighting, or weapon display there.
- Using a safe zone to dodge an active RP scene you were already engaged in is considered combat logging by another name.
12 Exploiting, Bug Abuse & Cheating
- Using game bugs, script exploits, dupes, or unintended mechanics for personal or gang benefit is a bannable offense — report bugs to staff instead.
- Any form of cheat client, macro automation for economy gain, or third-party tool that gives an unfair advantage results in an immediate, likely permanent ban.
- Hoarding an exploited advantage and “using it a little” is treated the same as using it fully.
13 Streaming, Recording & Sharing
- Streaming is welcome and encouraged — keep a stream delay if you want to avoid stream-sniping accusations.
- Do not use information from someone else’s public stream to metagame against their character.
- Clips used to report a rule violation should include enough context for staff to judge the full scene fairly, not just the moment that favors you.
14 Staff Authority & Appeals
- Staff decisions in an active scene are final in the moment — comply first, raise disputes afterward through the proper Discord channel.
- Disrespecting, ban-evading, or attempting to pressure/DM staff outside of official channels over a ruling will make things worse, not better.
- Punishments (warning, kick, temp-ban, permanent ban) scale with severity and history — first-time minor issues are usually a warning, not an instant ban; exploits, hate speech, and cheating are not.
